Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone has had a good day so far....

I know, some of us may already be dreading tomorrow.

But hey, since it's only past 2:30 p.m. there's still time to do more self-care.

I mean, I hope by now you're done with your laundry and other household chores. 🙂

If you're an office worker like me, you must have figured out what to wear tomorrow. I prepare one week's office wear (yes, I still prepare casual wear on Friday even though I work from home that day).

I hope you have also done your nails. 🙂

For me, 3 things still remain on my to-do list for Sunday afternoons: (1) meal prep for 4 days of office lunch; (2) finish reading my one-book-a-week project; and (3) do something to help me earn extra income.

At 4:00 p.m., I will attend (yet again) another workshop on how to earn income online.

Back in 2020, I woke up with a message in our high school group chat on Messenger that said I had died and someone was extending her condolences to my family. I almost fell off my bed!

Typical of how ironic my brain worked, I told myself it would have been a real mess had I actually hit my head from the fall and died as a result of that very wrong and unfortunate announcement.

It turned out one of our classmates whose name sounded like my old nickname had passed away. God bless her soul.

Everything was cleared out soon enough. I even wrote a short tribute to our classmate.

Truth be told, I was physically and emotionally awakened full blast by that incident.

"Please don't let this happen to me yet," I prayed hard to God with tears in my eyes. I had 4 children aged 15, 17, 19 and 20 who lost their Dad 9 years ago. Three of them were with me in the U.S., and the eldest was still back home in the Philippines. I still had so many things to do!

I knew then deep in my heart it was a real wake up call (I know, it's not even funny).

So many things have happened since then.

Right now, I still work with the law firm I joined 11 years ago.

I dabbled on print on demand with little success, but so grateful to the people who bought my art - as far as from Japan and Germany.

Canva, Instagram and Pinterest interest me a lot and would like to learn more. https://www.canva.com/design/DAGKg08XJy0/Ht0dJrRW9nUirO7279QpKA/view?utm_content=DAGKg08XJy0&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=editor

I realize God gave me talents and a creative mind. I only need to learn and use the right tools.

One day I will write a book and publish it on KDP.

One day I will share my story with the world and hope someone learns a little bit from my past experiences as a US immigrant who was armed with nothing at all in this foreign land.

Nothing, except a deep faith that the God Who created the universe also holds me in the palm of His hands.

And that has made the difference.

Happy Sunday!
